Isotropic ferrite magnets
Anisotropic ferrite magnets
Ceramic ring magnets, also known as Ferrite Ring Magnets, come in a wide range of sizes. They are often used in loudspeakers and in resonance imaging and torque drives. Other applications for this permanent magnet include holding, door closures, joinery, and light fixtures. Ceramic Rings are similar to Ceramic Discs but with a hole in the middle, which makes them a versatile magnet option. One popular application is the fishing game, tied on a piece of string, or to pick up pins and needles. Ferrite magnets have less magnetic strength (due to the hole) but their inexpensive pricing makes them a customer favorite.
Ceramic magnets are manufactured using powder technology techniques, meaning they can easily be magnetized or attracted to a magnet. Ferrites can be divided into two families based on their resistance to being demagnetized (magnetic coercivity).
Hard Ferrite ceramic magnets were developed in the 60’s and today comprise 75% of world magnetic consumption. Despite their relatively low magnetic values, they are the most popular magnet on the market due to ready availability and relatively low cost.
The raw material from which ferrite magnets are produced is Strontium Ferrite powder (mainly ScO.6Fe203) which is formed in a press while subjected to an electric field. This process allows the direction of the magnetic field to be determined during the production of the magnet. Ring Shape Audio Loudspeaker Ferrite Magnet
For example, Ferrite cores are used in electronic inductors, transformers, and electromagnets where the high electrical resistance of the ferrite leads to very low eddy current losses, in addition they are commonly seen as a lump in a computer cable, therefore called a ferrite bead, which helps to prevent high frequency electrical noise (radio frequency interference) from exiting or entering the equipment.
Ferrite magnets main qualities:
ferriteHigh coercivity (= high resistance of the magnet to demagnetization).
Highly stability under difficult environment conditions with no need for a coating to protect the magnet.
High resistance to oxidation.
Durability – the magnet is stable and constant.
Ferrite magnets popular uses:
automotive industry, electric motors (DC, brushless and others), magnetic separators (mainly plates), home appliances and more.
MPCO specializes in the production of Hard Ferrite (anisotropic) using a wet pressing process. Cutting and grinding of the magnets is performed with an electroplated diamond grinding wheel. Cheap Ferrite Magnet Ceramic Ring C8, Ring Shape Sintered Ferrite Magnet for Speaker D72X32X10mm
