The rubber coating also provide a good level of corrosion protection in humid conditions. Because of their high performance, slide resisting properties and paint work protection ability, these rubber coated Neodymium (NdFeB) pot magnets are sometimes also known as Boutique Magnets.
Best used in a shear position, rubber-coated pot magnets have a superior slide resistance over regular magnets due to the increased friction generated between a rubber and smooth steel surface.
Corrosion is the most common reason for a failing magnet. By adding a rubber-coating to a magnet you increase its resistance to corrosion and what’s more they are safe to use on easily marked surfaces without scratching. Typical applications include suspending outdoor cameras, heavy-duty gate and door latches, hanging signage and mounting sensors.
Ideal for furniture fixings, hanging artwork and keeping doors and drawers closed, countersunk magnets have a central hole which allows them to be fixed to non-magnetic surfaces with a screw. Because these magnets have a rubber-coating they are ideal for using to attract fragile or easily marked surfaces, the rubber coating increases friction, softens impacts and prevents marking. Countersunk magnets with opposite poles on the countersunk face can be used to attract two surfaces or two opposing countersunk magnets with the same pole on the countersunk face can be used to create a damping, shock absorbing or repelling effect. Also available with the north pole on the countersunk face. D88mm Big Round Rubber Encased Disc Magnet with Counter Bore
